The report first quarter 2012 earnings from
Nokia finally announced, and the company is finally really keep their predictions about the weak performance in the first quarter ago. Their income dropped by 30 percent to $9.7 billion from $13.6 billion in the same period last year.
Nokia also recorded losses of $1.7 billion, and smartphone sales fell by 52 percent which is about 1.7 billion units in the first quarter of 2012, net sales for the entire device is also dropped by 40 percent to 4.2 billion units.
Sales division to division most clearly highlighted by these results. Separately, Nokia confirmed that the executive vice president for sales division which is also a member of the Nokia Leadership Team, Colin Giles, has resigned after joining with Nokia for 20 years.
Under the leadership of Giles, who successfully sold the number of Nokia phones has dropped by 24 percent over the past year. Nokia does not plan to seek the position of the person who replaces Giles, they stated that the decision to resign as a 'reduction of the sales division of management layers. Nokia also stated that Giles is still going with the Nokia until June 30, 2012 to assist the transition process to run smoothly. Giles joined Nokia in 1992, and in February he was appointed to be a member of the
Nokia Leadership Team along with 14 other members, the team is an elite group of top-level echelons of Nokia. Giles reveals that the main reason for resigning was that he want to spend more time with family. Could Nokia be able to get up and boost their sales results after the death of Colin Giles?
